AKARTA: Tomy Perkasa, a sales manager for PT Eva Surya Pratama, is in critical condition after he was mugged by armed robbers on Jl. Angkur, Kayu Putih, Pulogadung, East Jakarta. The robbers, riding motorcycles, shot Tomy five times.

Tomy was driving his car alone to a bank when robbers in three motorcycles blocked his way. The robbers took Rp 120 million (US$10,000) in cash and demanded he withdraw Rp 146 million. The victim was taken to Omni Medical Center.

Meanwhile, another robbery took place in Lebak Bulus, South Jakarta.

Two robbers knocked on the gate of the house on Jl. Lebak Indah and when the owners opened the door, restrained them.

The robbers took a TV set, two laptops, two cell phones and jewellery, eyewitness said as reported by kompas.com.

Ariyanto, the neighborhood security guard, said he saw a small red car like a Honda Jazz or Toyota Yaris parked in front of the house around time of the robbery.

"I saw it and shortly after it left," he said. He added that during the day one guard was deployed to patrol the complex while during the night, three were on duty.
