It doesn't take an expert to care about the country's rich marine biota. Nadine Chandrawinata, the 2005 Putri Indonesia winner, is a believer. She says she will be attending the first ever World Ocean Conference in Manado, North Sulawesi, held from May 10-15.

"The North Sulawesi governor and COREMAP *Coral Reef Rehabilitation and Management Program* invited me to the conference. I will depart from Bali on the eve of May 10 and will be ready for the opening ceremony," Nadine said, adding she would follow the conference sessions and attend a gala dinner.

Having started diving as a hobby in 2006, Nadine is now a certified diver rescuer. She has been appointed by the World Wildlife Fund to be its ambassador for marine conservation. Wakatobi regency in Southeast Sulawesi province has also chosen Nadine as its eco-tourism ambassador.
