Indy Barends welcomes another baby boy

JAKARTA: Chatty TV show host Indy Barends gave birth to a baby boy Friday morning, giving her first son a younger brother to play with.

"Her baby was born at around 9 a.m. this morning. A healthy boy weighing 3.1 kilos," Indy's manager Kiki said, as quoted by newsportal VIVAnews.com.

The TV presenter had yet to decide on a name for the newest addition to her family, he added.

Indy, who started her show-hosting career as a radio announcer, has a 7-year-old son from her marriage with Benny Sarmanella, a disc jockey more popularly known as DJ Blanco. Raphael, or Rapha as they call the boy, was born in 2002, a year after the couple got married.

With some help and grooming by Meuthia Kasim, Indy's career picked up when she started hosting radio breakfast shows. Straightforward and witty, the 37-year-old later become more popular as one of the judges on talent show Indonesian Idol, and as former host of talk show Ceriwis. - JP
