AKARTA: Indonesia won the Asian Cup baseball qualifying round of division II after defeating Pakistan 3-2 in the final match in Bangkok on Saturday.
Gugun Yudinar, the chairman of the Indonesian Baseball and Softball Association (PERBASASI), said the Indonesia team was trailing Pakistan 1-2 until the 5th inning before launching a fightback in the remaining four innings.
"However, our team managed to outrun the opponent in the 8th inning to take a 3-2 lead and held on through to the 9th *last* inning," he said.
