OGOR: Ujang Romansyah, 18 and his girlfriend Nurfarah, 18, went to Bogor police precinct Saturday as witnesses in a defamation case related to a Facebook account.
"So far, we are inviting them as witnesses. We will also invite an expert witness from the Information and Communication Ministry," Bogor police detective Adj. Comr. Irwansyah told tempointeraktif.com on Saturday.
He said the police would wait for the testimony of the expert witness before they used the Electronic Transaction Information Law that carried a maximum sentence of six years in prison and a maximum Rp 1 billion fine.
The police currently used the Criminal Code on defamation that carried a maximum sentence of one year and a month in prison, he said.
Felly Fandini, 18, and her mother Nonih filed a police report after Felly allegedly received a rude message from Ujang's Facebook account.
Ujang said his girlfriend Nurfarah wrote the message after learning about the communication between Ujang and Felly, who are schoolmates.
