Angie and Adjie waiting for 09-09-09

JAKARTA: Some couples will be rushing to tie the knot on Sept. 9, 2009, and others are booking the lucky date for the birth of their babies. Celebrity couple Angelina Sondakh and Adjie Massaid are among the latter.

Although saying that, ultimately, the arrival depends on God’s miracle, Adjie says his wife is planning to have the baby delivered on that day.

“We plan to take Angie to the hospital on Sept. 8,” said Adjie, an actor and a legislator from the Democratic Party. “God willing, our baby will be born on 09-09-09.”

Despite already having two daughters from his previous marriage to singer Reza Artamevia, Adjie says he can’t help but be very nervous as they near D-day.

“Still, I’m so nervous, but I’m the one who has to keep Angie calm,” he said. “What Angie needs now is support from me and my daughters. [My daughters] have already bought a pair of shoes for their little sibling.”

Angie, the 2001 Putri Indonesia winner, says that triple nine is considered a lucky number.

“It’s only a week away, but thank God, I’m still strong enough to do some walking,” she said after her convocation day at University of Indonesia last week.

Angie, who holds a master’s in Political Communications, was honored with a Cum Laude during the ceremony.

Although she has no idea whether the baby is a girl or a boy, Angie plans to name her bundle of joy Keanu, if the baby is a boy.

“Keanu means cold wind from the top of a mountain,” said Angie, also a legislator from the Democratic Party. “We hope our baby will bring coolness to us, the nation and state.” — JP
