NDONESIA: Jakarta Police started to clear areas near the House of Representatives' complex in Senayan, South Jakarta, on Saturday, to provide security for the presidential inauguration ceremony on Oct. 20.

Spokesperson Sr. Comr. Chrysnanda Dwi Laksana said the officers would tightly guard the House of Representatives' building complex where the inauguration event would take place.

"The inauguration is a very important event for our nation. The police will take firm action against anyone attempting to disturb the event," he said on Friday, as reported by pro3rri.com.

He said police had deployed 12,000 officers to guard the area as well as other important government offices in Jakarta.

Chrysnanda said helicopters and armed vehicles would also patrol the House of Representatives' building complex.

The traffic near the building will also be diverted to other streets during the inauguration day. - JP
