JAKARTA: Used to dedicating most of his time to his music, Ignatius Rosoinaya Penyami somewhat regretted taking a role for the silver screen.
The rapper, more popularly known as “Igor Saykoji”, learned he had to allocate a significant portion of his time to shooting the film, which was not as simple as filming a video clip.
“I thought it would only require several takes, but it turned out it needed a lot of time and was not in line with what I am truly interested in,” Saykoji said as quoted by kapanlagi.com entertainment newsportal on Monday.
“Fortunately, there is a part of the [movie] Selendang Rocker [a rocker’s scarf] that concerns rap music,” he added.
The movie, centered around a rocker-turned-Malaysian pop singer, is Saykoji’s first acting role. The 26-year-old plays the role of a rapper.
“It’s very different to performing on stage. A movie requires a lot of scenes, and despite not having to move around too much like on stage, it’s still tiring,” he said.
“I admire other actors,” he said.
So, will he give movies another try? “I’d rather compose and sing the soundtrack,” he said. — JP
