AKARTA: Comic book fans should add the Indonesian Comic Books Exhibition held in the Education Ministry's library, Jl. Sudirman, South Jakarta, to their agendas.
The exhibition, titled Komik Indonesia Bangkit! or "Arise, Indonesian Comics!" opened Wednesday and will be held until Saturday next week.
The exhibition features works from old and new comic artists, said Fabi K., from the Indonesian Comic Collector (Pengki).
It will include workshops and the launching of a new series from one of the most memorable Indonesian comic titles, Gina.
One group of workers from the same office who were scrutinizing the displayed collector items said that they were actually out of the office on a field assignment.
Despite growing up in different places, the three men shared similar childhood memories about Indonesian comics.
"I was informed by my friend, who owns a comic book store, about this event," said Suryo, one of the men.
