UDUS: An estimated 11 million illegal cigarettes netted in raids between 2006 and 2009 were burned Tuesday by the customs office in Kudus, Central Java.
Customs and Excise Director General Anwar Supriyadi witnessed the burning, which could only be called redundant.
"These illegal cigarettes were from Pati and surrounding cities," said Ismartono, an official from the Central Java and Yogyakarta customs office.
He added not all of the contraband cigarettes went up in smoke as the incinerator was over capacity.
