OUTH TANGERANG: Six civil servants and former Tangerang deputy regent candidate, Airin Rachmi Diany, will run as candidates in the upcoming South Tangerang mayoral election this year.

The civil servants include Harry Mulya Zain, the Tangerang municipal administration secretary, Achmad Suwandhi, head of the Tangerang regency's education agency and Yayat Sudrajat, head of the Tangerang regency's capital investment coordinating body.

The mayoral hopefuls have started to campaign among community members through a number of banners they have placed at strategic locations in South Tangerang.

Harry Mulya Zain, who has confirmed his participation in the election, has been using social networking site Facebook as a campaign tool.

"I want to prove to the public that money is not everything when it comes to winning the mayoral election," he said.
