JAKARTA: Lead vocalist of the pop band sensation Kerispatih has allegedly tripped himself up in a criminal case involving illegal substances, which might put him behind bars for 12 years.

The Central Jakarta Police named Sammy from Kerispatih a suspect in a drug use case Wednesday after arresting him at his boarding house in Setiabudi on Tuesday. Police found crystal methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. A urine test showed that the drug was in his system.

“For S., we will charge him with Articles 112 and 127 of the 2009 law on narcotics. The maximum sentence is 12 years,” Central Jakarta Police chief Sr. Comr. Hamidin Ajiamin said referring to Sammy, as quoted by kapanlagi.com.

“At the time of the raid, S. was taking crystal meth, there was a suction device in his room at the boarding house. With S., there was a woman with the initials R.A. From the raid, we are following up on the place they obtained the drug,” he said,

Police reportedly arrested another suspect after questioning Sammy.
