ATM, credit card defrauder arrested in East Java

JAKARTA: Police in the East Java town of Sidoarjo have arrested a man suspected of supplying equipment used to replicate credit cards and steal from ATMs.
National police spokesman Insp. Gen. Edward Aritonang confirmed the arrest of the suspect, but stopped short of naming him.
The suspect is believed to be a member of a bank crime syndicate that has hacked ATMs in Bali and replicated credit cards in Bandung, West Java.
Over the past fortnight, the police have detained more than a dozen people suspected of defrauding the banking system and stealing at least Rp 6 billion nationwide. - JP
