AKARTA: The Jakarta Police named a suspect who allegedly runs an online pornography business in Jakarta.
"We have arrested the 30-year-old suspect three days ago," Jakarta Police spokesman Boy Rafli Ahmad told a conference Monday.
He said the suspect allegedly ran his business for about a year through blog and websites www.dennymanagement.multiply.com and www.deliveryjakarta.cc.cc.
The police added that the man set prices for female prostitutes ranging from between Rp 5 million (US$500) and Rp 50 million.
"The suspect will be charged with violating an article for supporting prostitution and acting as a pimp," Boy said.
The article carries a maximum one-year jail term sentence.
Boy explained that the police got to the bottom of the case after months of observing the site and blog, and arrested one of the women from the site, while she visited a client's residence in South Jakarta.
The modus used by the suspect was advertising the women through the sites and then making contact with customers.
