Doctors give Titiek Puspa `all-clear' from cancer

AKARTA: Veteran singer and actress Titiek Puspa, 72, says doctors have given her a clean bill of health after she was diagnosed with uterine cancer in 2009.

Titiek said Thursday she cried upon hearing the news.

"I was treated by three doctors in Singapore. They declared I was cured. So I'm cured," she said as quoted by kompas.com. "I cried when they told me."

Titiek added her recovery was due to her constant prayers and meditation while being treated.

"I was treated for two months in Singapore," she said.

"When I started meditating, the illness went. But of course that's because a lot of people also prayed for me too."

She added she had been instructed not to eat red meat or pesticide-treated fruits. - JP
