AKARTA: Hendra Samuel “Sammy” Simorangkir, lead vocalist of pop band Kerispatih, has been remanded at Salemba Penitentiary in Central Jakarta, following the police’s completion of a dossier on his alleged drugs offense.
Sammy, arrested two months ago for possession of crystal methamphetamine, said he hope his case would be over soon.
“I want to be allowed to go to rehab, but I need to go through the legal process first,” he told kapanlagi.com on Wednesday.
“Who’d ever want to go to prison?”
The 28-year-old said his defense team was seeking to leave him free on bail, adding he could take it if the motion was denied.
Kerispatih says it has fired Sammy and will hold auditions to find a new vocalist. — JP
