AKARTA: After winning its first award at the Singapore International Film Festival last week, Mira Lesmana's film Sang Pemimpi (The Dreamers) bagged the Audience Award at the Udine Far East International Film Festival in Italy.
According to Mira, the movie - which is based on Andrea Hirata's best selling novel with the same title - received overwhelming acclaim from audience members when it was screened at Nuovo Udine Theater on May 1, 2010.
"The movie received a storm of applauses," the producer said by email, as quoted by news portal detik.com.
The festival's Audience Award went to three movies: Sang Pemimpi, directed by Riri Riza, Castaway on the Moon from Korea and Accidental Kidnapper from Japan. - JP
