AKARTA: The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Thursday combed the office of PT Netway, a partner of the state electricity company PT PLN in a procurement project for a computerized customer information system (CIS-RISI), in Jakarta and Tangerang.
The antigraft body is currently investigating possible graft in the project, which was worth around Rp 137 billion.
KPK spokesman Johan Budi confirmed the raid was conducted at the company’s office on Jl. Sudirman in Jakarta.
The case has implicated former PLN president Eddie Widiono. Johan said state losses from the case had been estimated at Rp 45 billion.
The CIS-RISI project was initiated by the ITB Polytechnic in the 1990s, but was then subcontracted to Netway.
Suspicions about collusion arose when it became known that the head of the ITB Polytechnic at the time, Gani Abdul Gani, was also the president director of Netway. — JP
