AKARTA: The management of the TransJakarta busway has urged female passengers to immediately report to on-duty officers if they feel sexually threatened.
“The passengers can report to our officers on the bus so that [the latter] can quickly provide necessary help,” TransJakarta official Gunardjo said Sunday as quoted by beritajakarta.com.
Gunardjo also called on passengers to take precautionary measures, such as moving down from bus entrances to less crowded areas.
On Saturday, a female TransJakarta passenger reported a man to the South Jakarta Police for alleged sexual harassment.
The woman said the man had grabbed her body several times when the two had been in a TransJakarta bus plying Corridor I connecting Blok M in South Jakarta and Kota, West Jakarta. — JP
