JAKARTA: Jakarta does not have enough instruments to measure air quality, an official says
AKARTA: Jakarta does not have enough instruments to measure air quality, an official says.
The head of pollution control and environmental sanitation at the Jakarta Environmental Management Agency, Jhoni Tagor, said the capital had only one air quality meter in place, this being at the Hotel Indonesia traffic circle in Central Jakarta.
“The other four are awaiting repairs,” he said as quoted by kompas.com on Thursday.
Jakarta is one of the worst cities in the world in terms of air quality. Currently, the agency measures pollution levels using a mobile unit that takes air samples in several spots in the city. — JP
