BMW park project hits snag

J

AKARTA: Plans to build an international sports stadium in the former BMW park in North Jakarta have been delayed by a land dispute and class action lawsuit by former squatters whose homes were demolished to make way for the stadium.

Jakarta Justice and Human Rights Agency chief Sri Rahayu said the administration was facing a civil lawsuit from an individual who claimed to be the heir of the park owner.

Aside from the civil lawsuit, Sri said the administration was also facing a class action lawsuit from former residents of the park.
