The police is doing more than just flashing pretty faces on TV traffic shows to boost their image
he police is doing more than just flashing pretty faces on TV traffic shows to boost their image. They are also leveraging technology, in an attempt to improve the services they provide to the society.
The National Traffic Management Center said in a statement they had installed 388 CCTVs (closed circuit televisions) in various places across the archipelago to monitor traffic in this country.
The center is also equipped with a geographic information system that enables the police to source information on traffic on a real time basis.
The National Police traffic management director, Insp. Gen. Djoko Susilo, explained the corps had also been using online technology to speed up the provision of services.
Thanks to this approach, the public can process a driver’s license application online in 24 regional police headquarters. The numbers are expected to increase this year.
People can also access the latest traffic reports via the following website: www.lantas.polri.go.id.
Social networking media like Twitter and Facebook have also been included in the police traffic management’s media strategy to disseminate information to the public.
People can get the latest traffic reports by joining @ntmckorlantaspolri on Twitter and ntmckorlantaspolri@yahoo.com on Facebook.
