JAKARTA: Actress Christine Hakim’s motto these days is work hard and dance harder.
Although she is busy producing a documentary in Central Kalimantan, the 54-year old still found the time to relax a bit and dance with the native Dayak tribespeople.
The award winning actress is currently producing a documentary about the region and its locals.
During a break, Christine made the time to join local festivities and mingle with locals, hoping to get to know the culture better.
She praised the Dayak for their dedication to tradition and local beliefs.
“In this open society, if we don’t preserve the culture, it may perish,” she said as quoted by kompas.com on Wednesday.
Christine says she is making this documentary as part of her plan to produce a fiction movie about the Dayak. — JP
