AKARTA: Actress Jennifer Kurniawan expressed her happiness after marrying soccer star Irfan Bachdim in Germany recently.

“Thank you,” Jeniffer told reporters after performing in the music program Dahsyat at RCTI television station, in West Jakarta on Friday.

But Jennifer refused to give further details on the marriage with the naturalized Indonesian soccer player, which was held on July 8. “I cannot say. Oh, I’m sorry,” the 23-year-old actress was quoted as saying by detikhot.com.

Jennifer has been in a relationship with Irfan, who was born in Amsterdam on Aug. 11, 1988, for about five years.

The couple married in Germany due to their religious differences. There is no regulation in Indonesia that allows mixed-marriages between people who follow different religions.
