AKARTA: A panel of judges at the Central Jakarta District Court was yet to issue a verdict on two men selling iPads, Dian Yudha Negara and Randy Lester Samu.
The judges were expected to deliver their verdict on Monday.
“We are not finished with our deliberation. We need another week to finalize it. This session is adjourned until Tuesday next week,” presiding judge Sapawi said on Tuesday.
Randy and Dian were arrested in November in a sting by undercover police officers purporting to buy eight iPads via an Internet forum.
Both were arrested for violating the 1999 Consumer Protection Law requiring vendors to provide an Indonesian manual for electronic devices.
The defendants’ attorney, Alexander Lay, was optimistic that his clients would be acquitted. “Experts and witnesses have supported our arguments that Dian and Rendy are not merchants selling iPads,” he said.
