“We handed over the contract yesterday. We have another contract still in progress,” Sjafrie was quoted by tempo.co Friday.
Currently, the Air Force has 10 Sukhoi jetfighters – six Sukhoi SU-27SKM and four Sukhoi SU-30MK2. The Air Force plans to place one squadron of the jetfighters at Hasanuddin Airbase in Makassar.
The former Jakarta military commander said PT Dirgantara Indonesia (DI) is gradually finishing the production of Bell 412 and PUMA helicopters which will be delivered to the Army and Air Force.
The Indonesian airplane manufacturer PT DI is also working with a Spanish-based aircraft producer to build nine CN 295.
