JAKARTA: State-owned aircraft maker PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) says that local airline PT Nusantara Buana Air (NBA) has placed an order for 30 N-219 propeller aircraft
AKARTA: State-owned aircraft maker PT Dirgantara Indonesia (PT DI) says that local airline PT Nusantara Buana Air (NBA) has placed an order for 30 N-219 propeller aircraft.
“We are going to sign the letter of intent and memorandum of understanding with PT DI on Tuesday at the Singapore Air Show,” NBA manager James Massie told The Jakarta Post in Jakarta on Monday.
The purchase of the US$4 million, 19-seat aircraft was in line with the company’s plan to enter Kalimantan, Sulawesi, East Nusa Tenggara, and Papua in near future, he said.
Currently, NBA operates 12 pioneer routes in Aceh, North Sumatra, Bengkulu, West Sumatra, and Maluku with 5 Casa 212-200s.
“The purchase of the N-21s9 is also part of our plan to replace the old Casas,” he said.
He said that NBA would take delivery of 8 new aircraft this year: 4 units 29-seat Jetstream 41s from Scotland and 4 18-seater Dornier 228s from Germany.
“We will start to receive each unit of the new aircraft in the next two months,” he said.
