akarta: Immigration Directorate General spokesman Maryoto Sumadi has revealed that Soekarno-Hatta International Airport’s immigration office has taken six foreigners into custody for holding counterfeit passports.

The foreigners comprised of four Iranians with French passports and two Syrians with Bulgarian passports.

“We will deport them directly to their home countries tonight,” Maryoto told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.

He said that according to preliminary questioning, the people were on their way to Australia to seek asylum.

Earlier, the immigration office also nabbed 149 foreigners from various countries who were staying in the Puncak region in West Java because they failed to show legal documents when inspected.
