emarang: Nearly 30,000 cancer patients from Indonesia have undergone medical treatment at the Nanyang Tumor Hospital in Guangzhou, China.
Hospital vice president Yu Zhenyang said Indonesians account for 25 percent of patients from outside China.
“Indonesians receive treatment in centers in Guangzhou and Beijing,” Yu said during his visit to Semarang, Central Java, on Thursday.
Yu was in Semarang as part of a cooperative program to develop Semarang’s Ken Saras Hospital into a cancer treatment center.
“With high quality medication, this hospital may attract patients from Singapore and Malaysia,” he was quoted as saying by Antara news agency.
Asked about the advantages of traditional Chinese medication, Yu said the methods minimized the side effect of modern healing procedures.
