Former ‘Idol’ contestant returns to RI

JAKARTA: Debra, a former contestant on Australian Idol in 2008, has decided to return to Indonesia to try her luck in show business.

Kompas.com reported that the singer’s debut release is a mini album titled Go Ahead.

The five songs in Go Ahead — including the single with the same name — have a strong R&B feel to them, the newswire said.

“The song is about a girl falling in love with a boy, but she’s afraid that the boy will not accept her as she is,” Debra said of “Go Ahead”.

Debra started her career as a model in Australia before garnering fame on Australian Idol.
