esidents of Denpasar were startled when a 5.6-magnitude earthquake shook the city on Thursday evening at 7:04 p.m.
The Bali branch of the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) announced that the earthquake’s epicenter was approximately 61 kilometers southeast of neighboring Lombok Island.
The agency added that the earthquake was felt in Mataram, the capital of West Nusa Tenggara (NTB), Central Lombok and even on Sumbawa Island.
However, no casualties were reported and the earthquake did not have the potential to cause a tsunami, the office confirmed.
