AKARTA: A gasoline tanker operated by state oil and gas firm PT Pertamina caught fire on the Jagorawi toll road near the Cililitan gate on Sunday afternoon due to a tire blowout.
“We deployed 20 fire trucks to extinguish the fire,” Jakarta Police traffic directorate chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Jazari said as quoted by tempo.co.
He said that there were no fatalities, although traffic was disrupted near the toll gate.
Jazari said that the truck was empty. The fire allegedly came from the sparks caused by the tire blowout and quickly spread to the entire vehicle.
