A

Sumbawa Legislative Council member has been found dead in Hotel Sentral on Jl. Pramuka in East Jakarta on Wednesday.

The body of Burhanudin, a lawmaker from the Democratic Party, was found in room 508 of the hotel with no indications of violence, according to reports.

Burhanudin felt sick and went to sleep early on Tuesday night, said a fellow councillor from Sumbawa, West Nusa Tenggara.

When Burhanudin did not appear on Wednesday, the councillor and the hotel employees broke down the door to his room.

“There was nothing wrong when we found him. Maybe he was sick or had a heart attack,” the lawmaker, who declined to be named, said as quoted by kompas.com.

Police are investigating the case.
