ustoms and excise officers at Soekarno-Hatta International Airport have arrested an Indonesian and a Malaysian citizen for allegedly trying to smuggle in 5.5 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine worth Rp 7 billion (US$176 million) from Singapore.
Chief Oza Olivia said on Thursday that the arrest was made on Tuesday as the officers found two plastic bags containing the drugs concealed in the luggage of Batam resident Masdalia.
Further investigation found that Masdalia had arrangements to pass the drugs on to Malaysian national Ko Whan at an undisclosed location on Jl. Jaksa, Central Jakarta. Both suspects and the evidence were handed over to the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) investigators.
