ormer Constitutional Court justice Jimly Asshidiqie accused graft convict M. Nazaruddin of slandering him by making accusations that graft occurred in the construction of a new building for the court.
“We have to be skeptical about the statement and should not believe his words,” Jimly said as quoted by kompas.com.
Jimly said that Nazaruddin’s statement was motivated by a grudge against the court’s secretary general Janedjrie M. Gaffar.
“All stages in the construction project, from its planning to execution, had been certified as exemplary project,” Jimly said.
Nazaruddin has repeatedly made claims that many lawmakers were involved in graft surrounding the construction project of the Constitutional Court building and construction of power plants in Kalimantan and Riau by the State power utility PT Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN).
