I appreciate Governor Jokowi and Deputy Governor Ahok’s consistency in cutting unnecessary spending to prevent budget leakage.
Jokowi and Ahok show us a new kind of leadership. I personally like how they divide their work as governor and deputy. Jokowi takes a role as a leader who approaches citizens directly, while Ahok works behind the desk.
However, I think this YouTube show is too much. Why do they have to upload it? Is it to gain more popularity? I think it would have been better if they didn’t upload such videos. They are already popular. Isn’t it way cooler doing something good without letting anyone know?

We know that the Public Works Agency has been enjoying privileges for a very long time.
We know how bad their work is. I wouldn’t be surprised if there were kickbacks in every single project they did.
Now Ahok, the city needs to make each mayor, district head, subdistrict head and head of neighboring units more proactive in supporting your effort.
For one example — cleaning the neighborhood from rubbish, gutters and rivers. Make a compulsory kerja bakti (working together) from each house every two weeks.
Make sure the government providestools and trucks to carry the rubbish.
Keep the program going in each district and at the end of three months arrange a sudden inspection and perhaps incentives for subdistrict heads and the mayors for overall results.
But we need to be consistent for the whole year until the people get self-discipline into their heads.
The subdistrict heads and district heads must complain to the Public Works Agency if work in the area is not done properly or left undone.
Bravo Ahok, make the public servants do their work and duty properly. They have been sleeping or just smoking cigarette in the office for a long time! Time to waken them up!
