irport authorities found 301 grams of crystal methamphetamine in a package from Nairobi, Kenya, an officer said on Thursday.
The customs and excise office chief at the airport, Okto Irianto, said that the package was declared as wedding gift sent by a man identified as IY to an address in Bekasi, West Java. The crystal meth was wrapped in coffee containers and two dried bottle gourds.
Following the finding, customs officers, together with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), arrested two women identified as N and Y and a man identified as D.
BNN spokesman Soemirat Dwiyanto suspected that the sender had used a random address to receive the package. “Therefore, we would like to remind people to not accept packages of unknown origins,” he said.
