adikta Pawanto, 25, died after falling from the fourth floor of Palem Mutiara shop house on Blok C3 No. 32 in Cengkareng, West Jakarta, on Saturday.
The man, who hailed from Gresik in East Java, stepped onto plywood that covered an air circulation hole on the fourth floor that went straight down to the ground floor.
"The victim was hanging laundry by the shop house where he lived when he stepped on the plywood, which turned out to be an air circulation hole that connected the ground floor with the fourth floor," Cengkareng detective chief Adj. Comr. Khoiri said as quoted by kompas.com.
He said the victim's head was crushed as it hit the ground. The administration officer of a law firm died at the scene.
Khoiri said it was an accident and there was no indication of homicide.
