adjah Mada University's school of economy and business has established a publication office tasked with managing and collecting the scientific works of lecturers and students to make them internationally accessible through the use of information technology.
"We have seen a lack of international publications for the last five years," said the head of the newly established publication office, Mudrajad Kuncoro, after officially launching the office on Friday.
He said that from 2008-2012 the school had collected 995 pieces of scientific work of 153 lecturers majoring in management, accountancy and economic science.
The work comprised 121 books, 112 papers from seminars and conferences, 243 journal publications, 70 proceedings and six papers.
Of the total, only 133 have been published in international journals and 110 in national journals.
It was through the publication office, Murajad said, that the work would be better published in a more integrated way so that it would be accessible globally.
A lecturer of the school, Nurul Indarti, expressed hope that the establishment of the office would lead to the work of both lecturers and students being better managed. They would also be more easily accessed with the use of information technology.
"That way, people will need to come to the school [to access the scientific work]," Nurul said.
To access the work online, people should go to publications.feb.ugm.ac.id, she said.
