RI suffers from weak state: Prabowo

C

hief patron of the Greater Indonesia Movement (Gerindra) Party Lt. Gen. (ret) Prabowo Subianto has blamed government weakness for a whole host of problems affecting the country.

"This weak government has given rise to inefficiency in development programs as well as thriving graft," Prabowo said as quoted by tribunnews.com.

Prabowo said that the only way to solve the problem is for the country's elite to change the system.

"It is the elite who have to change the system and they must," he said.

In December last year, Prabowo offered his vision for the country saying that his version of a "better-guided" democracy would help solve the problems currently plaguing the country.

Prabowo also highlighted the fact that the current form of democracy in Indonesia suffered a lack of firm leadership.
