An Indonesian has died after a riot broke out at the Indonesian consulate general in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, the Foreign Ministry says.
The victim is Marwah binti Hasan, 55, from Bangkalan, Madura.
"We tried to bring the victim to the hospital but the victim died," Foreign Ministry spokesman Michael Tene said as quoted by kontan.co.id on Monday.
Michael said the riot began when thousands of people queuing for their travel documents started to push one another, creating chaos.
A security guard working for the consulate general was also injured during the incident.
