he National Statistics Agency (BPS) said the foreign tourist visit rate increased by 7.65 percent to 700,700 in May compared to the same period last year.
Based on a monthly basis, the rate climbed by 8.45 percent.
Cumulatively this year, the number of foreign tourist visits stood at 3.36 million or up by 5.79 percent from the same period last year, the BPS said in its official release.
Room occupancy rate in 23 provinces also increased by 0.15 points to 53.60 in May 2013 compared to the same period last year.
