ast Jakarta prosecutor Rd Koswara is seeking eight yearsimprisonment for First Brig. Nugroho Eko Krismianto and Saiful Anwar forallegedly sodomizing a 5-year-old boy in Ciracas, East Jakarta.
The closed-door hearing, which was previously adjourned three times, was held on Thursday afternoon.
The victim's mother was hysterical when she heard the demands.
'My boy will be psychologically impacted for the rest of his life. Eight years of jail is too lenient for such a crime,' she said as quoted by tempo.co on Thursday.
Meanwhile, the defendants' lawyer, Suhanan Yosua, said the eight years demanded was nonsense as there were was a lack of evidence.
According to the East Jakarta Police, Eko, a member of the National Police's Mobile Brigade (Brimob), and Saiful, a construction worker, allegedly sodomized the victim, identified only as F, on Feb. 9 and 10. The defendants allegedly threatened, assaulted and deceived the victim.
