Cop facing eight years in sodomy trial

E

ast Jakarta prosecutor Rd Koswara is seeking eight yearsimprisonment for First Brig. Nugroho Eko Krismianto and Saiful Anwar forallegedly sodomizing a 5-year-old boy in Ciracas, East Jakarta.

The closed-door hearing, which was previously adjourned three times, was held on Thursday afternoon.

The victim'€™s mother was hysterical when she heard the demands.

'€œMy boy will be psychologically impacted for the rest of his life. Eight years of jail is too lenient for such a crime,'€ she said as quoted by tempo.co on Thursday.

Meanwhile, the defendants'€™ lawyer, Suhanan Yosua, said the eight years demanded was nonsense as there were was a lack of evidence.

According to the East Jakarta Police, Eko, a member of the National Police'€™s Mobile Brigade (Brimob), and Saiful, a construction worker, allegedly sodomized the victim, identified only as F, on Feb. 9 and 10. The defendants allegedly threatened, assaulted and deceived the victim.
