The Jakarta Police reported on Friday that fire had engulfed seven fishing boats moored at a pier North Jakarta on Thursday night.
'We suspect the fire originated from the Cakrawala boat,' city police spokesman Sr. Comr. Rikwanto said in a written statement on Friday.
He said the fire, which started at 9:30 p.m. on the Cakrawala boat, spread quickly and engulfed seven other boats moored at Muara Baru Pier.
No casualties were reported in the incident and the financial losses have yet to be determined.
He said the fire was extinguished by 3 a.m. on Friday, adding that the Muara Baru Police were investigating the cause of the fire. (hrl)
