he Central Java Police haveconfiscated 1.1 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, locally known as shabu-shabu, as a result of two weeks ofraids from Sept.10 to 27.
The police have also apprehended 109 people, comprising drug dealers, producers and users.
'Besides confiscating the crystal meth, we also found marijuana,' Central Java Police spokesman Adj. Sr. Comr. Liliek Darmanto said in Semarang on Tuesday.
He said the biggest crystal meth raid was in Brebes with 885 grams, followed by Semarang with 250 grams. The Surakarta Police had also managed to confiscate 400 grams of marijuana.
Liliek said the police were determined to continue the operation to suppress drug distribution in the region. He acknowledged that drug distribution was a growing threat as in some cases, police officers were behind the drug dealers.
In other cases, they also found that drug dealers were operating entire drug distribution operations from prison cells. (dic)
