he Attorney General's Office (AGO) has filed an appealagainst the verdicts handed down to Ricksy Prematury and Herland bin Ompo, theChevron Pacific Indonesia's (CPI) contractors, who were involved in a graftcase that centered around the company's bioremediation project.
The AGO's spokesperson Setia Untung Arimuladi said on Thursday that they had filed the appeal with the Supreme Court earlier this week.
'Prosecutors believe that the [Jakarta High Court] judges handed down verdicts that they considered unfair because the jail terms are two-thirds less than what they demanded,' he said.
In May, the Jakarta Corruption Court sentenced Ricksy and Herlan bin Ompo, to five and six years in prison, respectively, for their role in CPI's bioremediation program that caused more than US$3 million in state losses.
