ormer Constitutional Court chief justice Mahfud MD hasinitiated a complaints center for members of the public who want to complainabout the performance of the court's justices, following the arrest of formerchief justice Akil Mochtar by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) lastweek.
'If any members of society aren't satisfied with the Constitutional Court's performance, they can report [their complaints] here,' Mahfud said on Friday as quoted by tempo.co.
Mahfud said the public could file complaints should they find any indications of corruption implicating the judges.
'However, such indications should be clear. Complaints cannot be reported just because a case is rejected by the court,' Mahfud said. 'We cannot follow up a report that has no evidence behind it.'
Mahfud said the public could also file complaints regarding ethics violations. He said that the complaint center would run effectively one week after Idul Adha.
