ndonesian women's chess grandmasters Medina Warda Aulia and Irene Kharisma will take on former world champion Antoaneta Stefanova of Bulgaria in an exhibition match at Utut Adianto Chess School (SCUA) in Bekasi, Greater Jakarta, on Monday.
'This is part of SEA [Southeast Asian] Games preparation, a tryout by second-tier players. It also coincides with the launching of chessku.com,' team manager Kristianus Liem said on Sunday.
Medina and Irene are part of the Indonesian chess team for the upcoming SEA Games, a multi-event sporting showcase, which will be hosted by Myanmar from Dec. 11 to 22.
Kristianus said the exhibition match would feature two rapid (25 minutes of thinking time) games and four blitz (five-minute) games.
Stefanova, 34, is stopping over in Jakarta before heading to Beijing to take part in the World Mind Games. It's the former world champion's fourth visit to Indonesia and her second within two months, coming on the heels of her participation in the Indonesia Open in October.
