Actress Tika Bravani said she was glad to have appeared in Soekarno, a biopic about the country's first president, Sukarno.
She played Sukarno's third wife, Fatmawati, who became the first Indonesian first lady.
'This is my most valuable experience. I've wanted to act in a biopic movie like this,' Tika said as quoted by kapanlagi.com during the movie's premiere on Monday evening.
Tika, who won a Citra Award in 2010 for Best Actress in Alangkah Lucunya Dunia Ini (This Ridiculous World), said she was unsure about playing Fatmawati in the beginning, but director Hanung Bramantyo encouraged her.
'I was worried my acting did not reflect or strayed far from real events, but Hanung helped me and other actors,' she said.
