he Jakarta Transportation Agency launched its 13th feeder service, connecting Pulogadung in North Jakarta to Poris Plawad in Tangerang, on Friday.
Agency head Udar Pristono said the feeder bus, known as the Integrated Bus Network (APTB), would hopefully encourage people to shift from private to public transport.
'The Tangerang administration has provided a parking facility for motorists in Poris Plawad so they don't have to take their cars to the city,' he said during the launch ceremony.
The new service is priced at Rp 15,000 (US$1.22) for passengers who travel from Tangerang to Pulogading, including a transfer to Transjakarta routes.
Udar said the operator had promised to provide 10 buses with a capacity of 85 passengers each next month.
The city administration has already established feeder services in 13 out of 29 targeted routes. (ebf)
